Mozart Requiem, Soloist Profile: Briana Sutherland – Alto
Briana Sutherland grew up in a nurturing music community in Northern Ontario that continues to fuel her passion as a Canadian mezzo-soprano. Her recent roles include Nancy in Britten’s Albert Herring, Meg Page in Verdi’s Falstaff, Vera Boronel in Menotti’s The Consul, Alyson in Rogers and Hammerstein’s Grand Night for Singing, and the Second Fairy in the Drunken Poet scene of Purcell’s The Fairy Queen. Briana has performed both within Canada and internationally with organizations such as the Timmins Symphony Orchestra, Opera NUOVA, the Breno Italy International Music Academy (BIIMA), the London Symphonia, and the International Symphony Orchestra. Briana is in her final year of her Bachelor of Music degree with an honours specialization in voice performance at the Don Wright Faculty of Music.
