Guitar Trio
Audiences and critics worldwide have acclaimed the Sudbury Guitar Trio‘s energetic and playful stage presence. Formed in 2011, Dr. Matthew Gould, Allan Yzereef and Keenan Comartin came together with a shared passion for new music and a dedication to promoting guitar in the community. The Sudbury Guitar Trio actively commissions new works and plays an eclectic selection of repertoire including new music, traditional classical music and unique arrangements of popular music (including rock, latin, and country styles), reaching a wide audience.
The Sudbury Guitar Trio made their debut performance in 2011 for Sudbury’s annual Guitars Alive concert, an organization that helps promote guitar activities and education in Sudbury. The members of SGT became artistic directors for this organization that same year. The trio first performed internationally for the Columbus Guitar Society in Ohio in May of 2013. They went on to perform in Europe for the SoundSCAPE Music Festival in Maccagno, Italy, the Festival di Bellagio in the Northern town of Bellagio, Italy and a new music series in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Sudbury Guitar Trio continues to tour internationally in North America and Europe while establishing themselves in their home base in northern Ontario playing for local concert series, festivals and charitable events.
