The SSO closes the season with a bold orchestral collaboration that reimagines the concert experience. 2V+ violinists Cristina Masotti and Melissa Schaak combine their classical virtuosity with an irresistible fusion of popular genres. Backed by a driving band and now a full orchestra, 2V+ Symphonique: Mad Violining XL ignites the stage with exhilarating new arrangements that intertwine three centuries of unstoppable grooves—from Vivaldi to Shakira.

2V+ is a dynamic crossover ensemble led by violinists Cristina Masotti and Melissa Schaak. Together, the two Northern Ontario musicians bring a rare blend of technical brilliance, stylistic versatility, and infectious stage presence to every performance.
Sudbury native Melissa Schaak has performed internationally in both classical and popular music settings, appearing alongside artists including Josh Groban, Chaka Khan, Toto, Disturbed, and Evanescence. She currently serves as Principal Second Violin of the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra.
Cristina Masotti is an accomplished orchestral musician, educator, and crossover artist whose work has included symphonic performance, musical theatre, folk traditions, and original music projects throughout Northern Ontario.
