SSO welcomes guest conductor Martin MacDonald to the first main series concert of the season. With this concert taking place at Sudbury Theatre Centre, there is an opportunity for a preconcert chat with the Maestro and a post-concert meet at the STC bar. On Saturday, October 22, the full SSO will perform “Songs and Dances” with a nod to our Nordic residents with some Sibelius and some Greig; a nod to the great Beethoven; two wonderful Canadian pieces by two famous women composers and finally, the erotic and the exotic: some excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen. There is definitely something for everyone in this first Main Series concert.
