Jacob Starling is a musician, improviser, composer, and educator. As a private guitar instructor, Jacob has taught students with a wide range of experience levels. From having no previous experience playing the guitar to professional musicians, Jacob has been able to help his students through his practical and holistic approach to playing music. With over 8 years of experience in education, Jacob has had the opportunity to teach privately, as well as at Laurentian University and the University of Toronto as a tutor and teaching assistant. While at U of T, Jacob worked with Canadian jazz greats David Occhipinti, Andrew Downing, Jim Vivian, and Geoff Young. Jacob also studied classical composition with renowned Toronto composer Peter Bergs. Upon completing his studies at the University of Toronto, Jacob returned home, teaching privately and performing around the Sudbury area.
