Fill the Score of Landscape Dreamscapes

Help the SSO and be part of this musical creation

The Sudbury Symphony Orchestra has commissioned a jazz-inspired piece of music to be written especially for us by trombonist, composer, and arranger Christian Overton! His composition, “Landscape Dreamscapes”, was inspired by his wanderings and exploration of the unique Sudbury landscape as he was growing up here. Many Sudburians will remember Christian from his student days at Robert Jack P.S. in Garson and then at Lasalle Secondary School in Sudbury. He has since gone on to bigger stages, but we are thrilled that not only has he written this piece for us, but he will be here at our Sudbury Symphony concert on Saturday, May 6 at 7:30pm to perform the composition with us as trombone soloist. It will be a big homecoming and a world premiere right here in Sudbury at the Fraser Auditorium!
Now you can help us bring his music to life. The first few bars of his piece are posted online for all to see. However, the remainder of the piece appears in shadow. We invite you to “Fill the Score” by purchasing a bar (or bars) of music for just $25 per bar. As a bar of music is purchased, it will appear with all the notes filled in and with the name of the purchaser attached. The bars that have been purchased will be performed at the concert. Obviously, our goal is that all the bars are purchased so we can perform this Sudbury-flavoured world premiere in its entirety!
With sincere thanks for your support!
