Movie Magic

Our favourite movies have the power to transport us. As the drama unfolds on the screen, we are blasted out of our reality and into the universe of the film; be it a galaxy far, far away, or a simple ocean side community. Imagine that journey in silence. Who could defeat the Empire without John Williams’ dramatic horn section, or journey through Middle Earth without Howard Shore’s lush score to guide you?

Much of tonight’s performance is devoted to the music of John Williams who, over his 57 year career, has created some of the most dramatic and sweeping scores of our time. From Jaws to Home Alone, Jurassic Park to Star Wars, Williams’ music has shaped some of our most beloved stories. His far-reaching influence can be felt in the works of many of his colleagues and it’s almost impossible to imagine what films would sound like had this musical giant not been so prolific.

Come along with us on this exciting journey down memory lane. From Amity Island to Middle Earth, Ice Planet to Hogwarts and back again, without ever leaving your seat! We promise you’ll experience the same thrill you had when the opening credits started!
